Charging Car Battery

Method of charging a car battery:  (Car Service)

1. Preparing to charge the battery

• Put on the appropriate safety gear
• Determine what kind of battery you have
• Get a car battery charger
• Disconnect the battery from your vehicle if necessary
• Clean the battery terminals

2. Using a speed or Trickle charger

• Place the charger on an even or stable surface
• Connect the charger to the battery
• Set the charger
• Check the battery

3. Jump starting your battery

• Park a functioning car so that it faces the car you are jumping
• Connect the two batteries used by the jumper cables
• Start the functioning car
• Disconnect the cables and allow the vehicles to run

4. Troubleshooting battery issues

• Have the battery checked by an auto-parts store
• Test the alternator
• Listen for clicking
• Take note if the vehicle stalls
